Mid autumn is traditionaly celebrated in Russia with a harvest festival. A short harvest celebration was held at Russian school to introduce its pupils to this importnat Russian tradition.

Lots of preparation was needed prior to the celebration: the youngest pupils had made 'crowns' with pictures of fruit and vegetables as part of their art classes, while the older pupils had prepared a fun adaption of the famous 'Giant turnip' tale in their drama lessions.

The fun celebration was enjoyed by both children and adults. Everybody had a good laugh at the silly old man (played by Dima Minaev) who couldn't find his turnip.
