In the middle of
February, by the end of the "pancake week", there was a traditional Russian pancake day celebration called "Masleneetsa" in the
Russian School. The pupils from the senior class, dressed in
Russian folk costumes, gave a short performance devoted to "Masleneetsa". The
school volunteer, Irina Korovina - a true Russian beauty in the colourful traditional
dress - offered everyone hot pancakes with jam, which
were instantly eaten by children and adults with great enthusiasm.
The School branch in Worcester also celebrated "Masleneetsa"
with singing and dancing and, of course, eating lots of tasty pancakes.
