Birmingham Russian School and its branches have been celebrating Victory Day - a celebration that is very dear to all Russian people. The schools held "Memory lessons" where the pupils (and parents) listened to war time stories, young heroes that bravely stood side by side with adults to defend their motherland, the heavy price that the Russian people paid for victory. Everyone joined together to sing famous Russian songs "Katyusha" and "Sun circle".
After the lesons, a school delegation went to Victory Memorial in Birmingham city centre to lay flowers and wreaths. There were also red carnations that the pupils had made during their Artlessons specially for this occasion. Photos |
